Ben Davis, solo cello
English cellist Ben Davis has been heavily involved with jazz and improvisation in the UK and Europe for many years. He has played and recording with Ingrid Laubrock, Simon Nabatov, Ellery Eskerlin, Wada Leo Smith, Mulatu Astatke, Mary Halverson and Bobby McFerrin. His own group’s debut CD “Basquiat Strings with Seb Rochford” was nominated for the Mercury Prize 2007. He moved to Chicago in 2016 where he collaborated with resident musicians Greg Ward, John Moulder and Tomeka Reid and formed a trio with guitarist Sam Mosching and drummer Steve Hunt.
Nathan Blehar, Tony Falco Duo
Nathan Blehar is a tenor and soprano saxophonist who makes his home in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. After studying saxophone and composition at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Nathan spent the next years touring in Europe, South America, and the United States playing with the likes of Andre Matos, Leo Genovese, Jeremy Udden, Mike Baggetta, Francisco Mela, Robert Stillman, and many others. Nathan made his home in Lisbon Portugal and Brooklyn NYC before eventually settling in Western Massachusetts. Here he has pursued singing and songwriting in addition to his first love and discipline in improvised music on the saxophone. He has appeared live and on recordings with folk artists Zak Trojano, Kris Delmhorst, Matt Lorenz, and as a solo artist. His most recent project is a series of monthly duo recordings with drummer Tony Falco.
Tony Falco is a drummer based in Greenfield, MA. He graduated from the New England Conservatory, and has recorded and/or performed with Nathan Blehar, Bob Moses, John Medeski, John Lockwood, Don Pate, Tiszii Muñoz, Paul Shaffer, Lew Soloff, Aryeh Kobrinski, Dan Blake, Garth Stevenson, Conor Elmes, Josh Sinton, and Owen Stuart-Robertson, among others.
